Imagine a body that only consumes food or mostly fast food. It will be unhealthy and likely to have a shorter life span. The same goes for the brain. Big tech companies know very well how to manipulate our brains and turn us into an addict. They feed us with information that we like, therefore we keep coming back for more. For such long time, I was trapped in this cycle. I started to have so much shallow information in my head, and most of them are pretty useless.

In my opinion, “producing” is how we actually using our brain in a healthy way and to break that cycle. But it’s not easy to produce something. But I do know how to think and write. I force myself to write, to think. It’s a messy process, but it’s a process that I enjoy.

Digital Gardening

The phrase “digital garden” is a metaphor for thinking about writing and creating that focuses less on the resulting “showpiece” and more on the process, care, and craft it takes to get there.

Gardens can be very personal and full of whimsy or a garden can be a source of food and substance. We gather and work together in community gardens to share the labor as well as the rewards of a collective effort. It’s a comparison that you can take very far. From “planting seeds” and “pulling weeds” to tending mutiple gardens that each serve an individual need or desired outcome.

No gardens are the same, and no two gardeners will tend to their gardens in the same way. The same goes for digital gardens. They can be as unique as the person who creates them.
